The Grand Design | The Original Harmony – Chapter 4 (Official Lyric Video)
Verse
Maybe it’s the animals, running up and down,
Causing the confusion,
Inside big old tree’s crown!
Not at all, my little one, said the wise old pine,
They nibble my dead wood,
Then come new shoots of mine.
With their help I grow new branches and become strong,
Sometimes it is painful,
But not in the least wrong.
They eat my fruit and mast, to meet their younglings needs.
Then they fly yonder high,
Their droppings spread my seeds.
This is the grand design, where all things find their place,
Balancing great and small,
Each one has its own space.
I have balance as well, declares the little tree.
They give me water here,
I never thirst, you see.
Chorus
There's a place for you, there's a place for me,
In a world much bigger than the eye can see.
Through the rain and snow, through the sun that shines,
We are all connected in the grand design.
Every root that grows, every seed that flies,
Every little life beneath the endless skies.
Through the joy and pain, through the changing times,
Love and life are woven in the grand design.
Verse
But when a drought arrives, will your roots stand the test?
Still trapped in your black pot,
They cannot reach their best.
Deep under the surface, my roots run wide and free,.
Tapping into the spring,
That forever feeds me.
The little tree conceded: grand design was fine,
But I chose to maintain,
The grand design of mine!
He need never worry about the rain or shine.
Nor the snowy blanket,
That wraps around the pine.
The old tree responded that winter is the best,
The cold lets him slumber,
And he gets a good rest.
The little tree thought his own grand design was best,
He turned from old chap’s words,
And put it to the test!
